External Relations

In the position of External Relations/Vice President you are responsible for all external contacts that ESN Groningen encounters. One of the most important contacts is the Rijksuniversiteit Groningen. On a regular basis you will have meetings and consultations with the University. Among these are contacts with the Bureau of International Relations (BIS), Student Affairs and the International Offices of the faculties. Furthermore, you are the one maintaining the contacts with the Hanze University of Applied Sciences, other student organizations, the study associations of the RuG and many more! Besides that, you will be the responsible person of the board for setting up an awesome program for the KEIweek.

Many of your proceedings will be in cooperation with the Integration Coordinator. One of them is the attendance of the two-monthly GISP meetings, which is a meeting with the University, several international student associations and ESN. Furthermore, you will attend all introductory talks with new external parties together with the Integration Coordinator.

Twice a year, ESN Groningen organizes an Introduction Week for new incoming international students. As External you are responsible for recruiting and guiding all Introduction Guides (these Guides lead all international students through the Introduction Week program).

Lastly, you will be the board representative for the Pubquiz Committee and the Career Committee. You are the one keeping an eye on what’s going on in the committees. The Pubquiz Committee organizes a pubquiz once every three weeks in our hangout, de Drie Gezusters. The Career Committee organizes the Energy Career Event (ECE) in November and an International Conference in May. The goal of these days is to give an insight, to both International and Dutch students, of the international business community. Together with your committee, you will make sure that these two days go by successfully!
