Mentor and Integration Committee

This committee can be of assistance to international students during their first weeks in Groningen. They do this by arranging a Dutch mentor for every international student who sends in a request. This mentor, who studies at the same faculty as the exchange student, can help him or her with any possible problems that might arise. He or she also helps the international student integrate into student life as smoothly as possible. Mentors offer a wide variety of services ranging from giving students a tour of their faculty to where the inner city "nightlife hot spots" are. 

Furthermore this committee organizes so called “integration-activities” which are open for international and Dutch students. In this way, they try to promote the integration between these two groups of students. An example are the International Games (a sports event), pancake dinner, Sinterklaas activity, ice-skating and a debating contest.
