Practicalities, Application Procedure & Info Evenings

A board year with ESN Groningen is a full time commitment and a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience alongside your studies. As compensation, Hanze and RUG students receive a board grant of around €4500. In addition, EU students are in most cases eligible for a tuition-free year. Unfortunately, this arrangement does not apply to non-EU students, who will still need to pay tuition fees.

If you are a Hanze student, you may also be eligible to receive credits as compensation for completing a board year.

The application process

The application process consists of two interview rounds:

  • Round 1: 2nd -14th of April
  • Round 2: 28th of April – 4th of May

After the first round candidates will be informed via phone, whether or not they made it to the second round. Candidates who make it to the second round will receive position-specific cases to prepare in advance. These cases will form the main basis of discussion during the second interview.

After the second interview round, a final decision will be made, and you will be personally informed of that decision by phone.
