Ylse Visser – Integration Coordinator ESN Groningen Board 2026/2027

Hello everyone! My name is Ylse, and I am the Integration Coordinator of the 39th Board of ESN Groningen. I’m 21 years old and originally from Leeuwarden, a city in the north of the Netherlands. I recently finished my Bachelor’s degree in International Relations, and in my free time I love reading, travelling, going on holidays, playing volleyball, and going on random sidequests!

Position description
What makes my position so unique is the freedom that comes with it. As Integration Coordinator, you have a lot of creative space to develop your own initiatives and projects aimed at fostering integration and improving the student experience for thousands of students.
To give you a little sneak peek into my role: I am responsible for several of our ESN programmes, including the Buddy Programme, Language Exchange Programme, and Disputen Programme. Besides this, I am also closely involved with our Active Members Community, where I am a proud Board member responsible for the Buddy & Integration Committee and the International Dinner Committee.
But my responsibilities don’t stop at our internal community! As Integration Coordinator, I am also the contact person for other student and study associations in Groningen. This means I get to work closely with different organisations, meet with external partners and the municipality, and represent ESN Groningen on various platforms.
What I enjoy most about my position is the combination of being closely connected to our student community while also having the freedom to turn my own ideas into reality. No two days are the same, and there is always room to start something new!
