Jo Butulescu – Secretary ESN Groningen Board 2025/2026

Hello everyone! My name is Jo Butulescu, and I am the Secretary of the 38th Executive Board of ESN Groningen. I am 22 years old and graduated with an LLB in International & European Law at the UG. Previously, I was the President of the Culture Committee in 2024 and then the President of the International Dinner Committee the following year. I have also participated as an Introduction Guide during previous Introduction Weeks. My favourite thing to do in my free time is to leave the city and travel the world (34 countries and still counting). 

Position description

I am the main contact person for any questions from students and organisations. Furthermore, I am responsible for taking the minutes during meetings. Next to that, I am responsible for the weekly newsletter as well as sending out emails or invitations to keep everyone up to date. Adding to that, I am responsible for the privacy policy of ESN, as well as the policy and the activities in the field of sustainability. Together with the Integration Coordinator of the Board, we co-organise the Social Impact Week. I am also the board member responsible for two awesome committees: the Sports Committee and the Culture Committee!

Another thing the board is responsible for is the organisation of the Introduction Week. For the Introduction Weeks, I am responsible for recruiting the Introduction Guides who make these weeks the success that they are. Next to that, I am the organiser of the legendary Pub Crawl at the start of the Introduction Week, as well as the Band Night.
