ESN Awards 2026
We are thrilled to share some exciting news with you all! As part of the wider Erasmus Student Network (ESN) family spread across Europe, ESN Groningen had the honour of participating in the annual award ceremony during the Erasmus Generation Meeting.
This event took place between 16 and 19 April in the historical city of Split, Croatia. Bringing together over 1,000 Erasmus+ alumni, internationally minded young individuals, and key stakeholders in international mobility and higher education, the ceremony served as a celebration of achievements and contributions within the ESN community.

Safety Award
We’re thrilled to share that ESN Groningen has secured 2nd place in the Safety Award category of ESN International! This award recognises the most impactful initiative fostering the safety of our members and international students in aspects as prevention, support or protection against risks.
We want to thank all collaborators who contributed to the success of this initiative and supported our Social Safety Initiative during the Introduction Week.
Education Award
Our initiative, Dutch Elections 2025: Everything You Need to Know, was recognised for its contribution to political literacy and inclusion of international students. The event was designed to make the Dutch political system and national elections more accessible to non-Dutch residents, who often face language and knowledge barriers when engaging with local political debates.
Through an English-language panel discussion with academic experts, the initiative provided a clear and structured introduction to Dutch politics, enabling participants to better understand current developments and follow public discussions with more confidence.
We would like to thank our institutional partners and everyone who participated in the event. Your engagement made this initiative meaningful and relevant.
Additionally, between the 22nd and 24th of May, we hosted the third National Platform of ESN The Netherlands, where national awards were also awarded. ESN Groningen received three awards for the following categories.
