On behalf of ESN Groningen, I am proud to wish you a warm welcome to our beautiful city! Being considered one of the most lively and active student cities in the Netherlands is merely one of the many amazing qualities Groningen has to offer. Having lived in Portugal my entire life, I arrived in Groningen for my Bachelor’s Degree without knowing the city or anyone who lived here. Soon enough, my nerves were replaced with excitement, as I found my way and got to work on an interesting degree while meeting incredible people.
ESN Groningen aims to help international students smoothly integrate into the Netherlands. Throughout the year, together with our ten active committees, we organize 150+ exciting events ranging from theme parties and must-visit excursions to cultural workshops and international dinners. With these activities, we hope to create unforgettable memories and lasting friendships. Through our initiatives such as the Christmas and Buddy Programme, we strive for a sense of togetherness within the student community.
The Introduction Week is now about to kick off and with this manual we intend to prepare you for this unique experience. You will soon build new friendships and get to know this wonderful city. Ahead lies a week filled with fun parties, workshops and activities, all designed to give you the best possible start to your time in Groningen.
Please let us know if you have any questions about the upcoming Introduction Week or ESN Groningen in general. The 37th Board of ESN Groningen cannot wait to meet you all! We hope that you enjoy your time with us and that you will soon be able to call Groningen your home.
On behalf of the 37th Board of ESN Groningen,
Maartje Bal
President ESN Groningen Board 2024-2025
