ESN Groningen is the biggest international student organisation in Groningen and one of the largest ESN sections in Europe. We organise over 150 activities and 2 large Introduction Weeks, where the largest one in September has more than 2000 participants. Next to that, we have several structural programmes that run throughout the year. In total, over 6,000 international and internationally oriented students in Groningen are connected to ESN. As a Board member, you will be in charge of this organisation and together with 60 committee members, 300 Introduction Guides and 250 Buddies you will help every international student make the most out of their stay in Groningen, while facilitating the integration of international students with the Dutch (student) culture.

As a member of the Board, you will be in charge of the biggest international student organisation in Groningen for an entire year. This means that you will not only organise amazing events and Introduction Weeks, but you will also represent the interests of international and internationally oriented students towards the University of Groningen, the Hanze University of Applied Sciences, the municipality of Groningen and other relevant parties, through close cooperation. Through the work that you do, you will be able to fully develop yourself on a personal and professional level while building your CV.

Next to this, you will be socializing and networking with other Boards and enthusiastic volunteers at social events and in national and international conferences all over Europe – and, since you are at the heart of the international student community of Groningen, you will be in touch with students from all over the world throughout the entire year!

The Executive Board consists of 6 students with the following positions: President, Secretary, Treasurer, External Relations Coordinator, PR Coordinator and Integration Coordinator. Read more about what all these positions entail here and in the brochure below. Together with the rest of your board, you will spend a year in charge of the largest international student organisation in Groningen: an unforgettable and valuable experience! The board year starts parttime in May 2021, and becomes full-time from August 2021 onwards. You can find more information about the details and the workload in the brochure below.
