Annika Trappe – Secretary ESN Groningen Board 2022/2023

Hello everyone! My name is Annika Trappe and I am the Secretary of the Executive Board of ESN Groningen 2022/2023. I am 23 years old and originally from Southern Germany. Recently I finished my Bachelor’s in Psychology at the University of Groningen. I have been the Secretary of the International Dinner Committee 2020/2021 and the President of the Buddy and Integration Committee 2021/2022. Those two years have been amazing and hence I decided to be part of the Executive Board this year. Furthermore, I lived one year in Australia and in general love travelling as well as experiencing other cultures and their cuisine. Adding to that I love cooking any kind of food, meeting up with my friends, and dancing. I am also trying to learn new languages.

I am looking forward to this year and meeting you during one of our many events! As I am also an international student and lived in Groningen for the past three years, I am highly excited to use my past experiences to make the stay of all new international as well as Dutch students as amazing as possible.

Position description

The Secretary position has many clear tasks. For example, I am the main contact person for questions from international and Dutch students, and organisations. Furthermore, I am responsible for taking the minutes during meetings. Next to that, I am responsible for the weekly newsletter as well as sending out emails or invitations to keep everyone up to date. Adding to that, I am responsible for the privacy policy of ESN. I am also the board responsible for two awesome committees: the Sports Committee and the Social Erasmus Committee!

Another thing the board is responsible for is the organization of the Introduction Week. I am responsible for recruiting all the Introduction Guides who make this week a great success. Next to that, I am the organizer of the legendary Pub Crawl at the start of the Introduction Week as well as the Band Night.

I am also one of the two confidential advisors together with Jos, the Treasurer of the Executive Board of 2022/2023.  So if you ever feel you need someone to talk to or if something happened, you can always contact one of us.

I am looking forward to working together with my five other board members to make this year an amazing one!
