My name is Elli and I am the Integration Coordinator of the 36th Board of ESN Groningen. Originally, I am from Freiburg, Southern Germany, but I have been living in Groningen for more than three years already and (almost) finished my Bachelor’s in International Relations with a Minor in Development Studies. My journey with ESN started quite a while ago, and after being the Online Journalist, President of the Excursion Committee, Introduction Guide and Crew Manager of the February Introduction Week, I have decided to step up my game and become a full-time Board member. ESN has shaped my student life, helped me to integrate and allowed me to develop myself while making friends and memories that will last forever. In my position as Integration Coordinator, I now have the possibility to give back to the student community that has given me so much.
What makes my position so unique is the freedom it brings along. As the Integration Coordinator, you have the creative space to develop your own initiatives and projects to foster integration and improve the lives of thousands of students. To give you a little sneak peek, I am responsible for the ESN programmes, which include the Buddy Programme, the Language Exchange Programme, and the Disputen Programme. Next to that, I am also very involved with our Active Members Community, whereby I am the proud Board responsible for the Buddy & Integration Committee and the International Dinner Committee. But my responsibilities do not stop at internal affairs; as the Integration Coordinator, I am also the contact person for all other student and study associations in Groningen, work closely together with them and have meetings with external partners, the city or represent ESN Groningen on various platforms. What I love most about my job is the close contact with the student community and the freedom I have to realise my own ideas.
